Program Information*

Esperanza del Futuro, Esperanza Unida’s Child Care Training Center, trains people referred by state, county, and community agencies as well as anyone who is interested in becoming a licensed family day care provider, assistant or lead teacher in day care centers.

The Family Day Care Course will certify and assist the student in setting up a family day care center.  It will also prepare the student to be a small business operator. This is the only bilingual (Spanish/English) child care training program in Milwaukee. In partnership with MATC (Milwaukee Area Technical College), it also has the only bi-lingual certified courses in Early Childhood I and II.

In Wisconsin, a family day care provider must be licensed if he/she provides care for four or more children under the age of seven (including his/her own children) for less than 24 hours a day. The license process sets standards for quality day care to protect children’s safety, health, and well being.

We believe it is everyone’s responsibility to ensure that our children are given the best possible beginning in life. Becoming a family day care provider can allow the student a chance to make that difference.
